5.1 Child Abuse Prevention Team (CAP Team)

Purpose/Responsibilities: CAP Team members provide training for parish staff and volunteers as needed (usually two sessions fall and spring). In addition, the CAP Team may conduct information sessions for parents, offer guidance in following procedures and act as liaison to the Office of Child Advocacy.
Activites: N.A.
Training/Requirements: Team members are approved by the pastor for a period of three years which may be renewed. Members must submit to a mandatory background check, complete the required two (2) day training and be certified by the Archdiocesan Office of Child Advocacy.
Need: Six
How to Participate: Speak with Father Petringa or with George Kenrick.
Meeting/Serving Commitments: Once having gone through the training, you would need to be available for two sessions, three hours each, to train others.

5.2 Clerical Support Team

Purpose/Responsibilities: This group of volunteers assists the parish secretary and staff with large mailings, collating bulletin inserts, preparing worship aids for various liturgies.
Activites: N.A.
Training/Requirements: None needed; but computer skills would be a bonus.
Need: You can never have enough volunteers when a parish wide mailing is planned. Fifteen to twenty people would be ideal.
How to Participate: Speak with Claire Collins (secretary)
Meeting/Serving Commitments: As few times as once a year or, if you are available, perhaps three.

5.3.1 Parish Web Site

Purpose/Responsibilities: This group of volunteers serves the parish by maintaining and enhancing the Parish website, and also as a resource of expertise for all Internet based activities.
Activites: Uploading information onto the Parish website on a regular basis and effecting site changes as directed by the web site committee.
Training/Requirements: Some level of computer and Internet related skills required, as well as email access to communicate with fellow volunteers.
Need: Four to six people to provide technical support and website content management
How to Participate: Contact Jim Salvas or Casey Grant
Meeting/Serving Commitments: Meetings on an ad-hoc basis as needed

5.3.2 Bulletin and Directory

Purpose/Responsibilities: This group of volunteers serves the parish with the twofold purpose of 1) developing the content of the weekly bulletin; and 2) maintaining and enhancing the Parish directory of core information on “Ministries, Committees and Initiatives”.
Activites: Maintaining the weekly schedule of updating the bulletin, and the semi-annual update of the core information of Parish “Ministries, Committees and Initiatives”.
Training/Requirements: Some knowledge in computer and Internet related skills are helpful. Email access to communicate with fellow volunteers on the weekly bulletin is also helpful.
Need: Four to six people.

Meeting/Serving Commitments: Meet semi-annually, and more frequently as needed.

5.3.3 Email-Communication Committee

Purpose/Responsibilities:

To identify ways in which e-mail can be utilized to improve communication within the parish.

To establish and maintain an e-mail address book and sub-groups

Activites: N.A.
Training/Requirements: Familiarity with e-mail communication
Need: Three people to initiate this system and monitor its utilization
How to Participate: Speak with Claire Collins or Sister Kathleen
Meeting/Serving Commitments: Initial commitment would be the greatest and the amount of time would depend on skill level of the volunteer
